Adrian Peterson’s move to the New Orleans Saints was one of the biggest storylines entering the NFL season, but his trade Tuesday to the Arizona Cardinals may have been triggered by a former SEC running back.

Former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara has registered 230 yards from scrimmage, while Peterson has 27 carries for 81 yards. Former Alabama running back Mark Ingram is also a factor as he has 42 carries for 170.

Kamara is seen as a contributor in the running and passing game for New Orleans, and the third-round pick has evidently shown enough to get more playing time beyond third down.
