Trevon Flowers unconventional recruitment has come to an end as the dual-sport Georgia athlete has announced his decision to play for Tennessee.

Originally a Kentucky baseball-only commit, Flowers received his release from the Wildcats once his recruitment in football began to pick up. Flowers flew under the radar for the most part due to the fact he did not play high school football until his senior season. At that point in most prospects’ careers, the evaluation period is over for college football programs.

Once Flowers hit the recruiting scene, Tennessee and Clemson quickly began recruiting him. The Georgia native took official visits to each school leading up to National Signing Day but has chosen to continue his athletic career in Knoxville.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Flowers ranks as a three-star prospect and the No. 59 safety prospect in the nation according to 247Sports. Given that he flew under the radar for much of his high school career, Flowers was unranked by the services less than a month ago.

Judging by his senior season high school highlight reel, Flowers has a real knack of forcing turnovers in the defensive secondary. Having the potential to play for a coach that knows that unit as well as Jeremy Pruitt likely played a role in Flowers’ final decision.
