Jeremy Pruitt said he would make the state of Tennessee a priority on the recruiting trail when he was hired on Rocky Top and he continues to show he meant what he said as former Ole Miss commit Jabari Small just announced his commitment to the Volunteers.

Small decommitted from Ole Miss on Dec. 2 following the school’s decision to fire Matt Luke.

The standout running back and returner from Briarcrest Christian in Memphis is a teammate of defensive lineman Omari Thomas, who just announced his own commitment to Tennessee on Monday. With these Briarcrest Christian teammates now committed to Tennessee’s 2020 recruiting class, the Vols have 18 total prospects committed to the class.

247Sports Composite Rankings list Small as the nation’s No. 11 all-purpose back and the No. 20 overall prospect from the state of Tennessee. The Vols now have two in-state running backs committed in this class as Small joins east Tennessee native Tee Hodge as a member of the class.

Small announced his commitment on Twitter saying, “Thank you Lord, a dream come true!”
