While Tennessee put together a win it hasn’t seen in recent memory, QB Jarrett Guarantano had an impressive showing in his own right.

The Vols quarterback was 21-for-32 passing for 328 yards and two touchdowns. He received an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 93.3, the highest grade of any offensive player on the National Team of the Week. The yards are a career-best as he led Tennessee to a 30-24 victory at No. 21 Auburn. Guarantano also had career bests in passing attempts and completions.

It was Tennessee’s first win over August since 1999, and PFF noted that he completed 8-of-14 passes for 232 yards and both scores on passes targeted 10 or more yards past the line of scrimmage.

What’s more, Guarantano on third down, completed 11-of-14 passes, including 8-of-8 on third-and-8 or longer.

Guarantano led the Vols to their first road upset over a ranked SEC team since Phillip Fulmer led Tennessee to a 51-33 win at No. 10 Georgia on Oct. 7, 2006.

The Vols return to action against No. 1 Alabama on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium.
