Multiple Tennessee assistant coaches fired for cause following investigation into Jeremy Pruitt's program
Jeremy Pruitt isn’t the only one paying for the issues on Rocky Top.
If you missed the big news out of Knoxville on Monday, Pruitt is out following the school’s internal investigation into alleged recruiting violations.
It is being reported that Tennessee does not plan to pay Pruitt his buyout as they are not obligated to do so if violations have occurred under his watch. According to ESPN’s Chris Low, Tennessee discovered “multiple Level I violations” following an internal investigation.
Level I violations are the most serious violations and come with the harshest punishment.
Now comes news that Pruitt won’t be alone in getting fired as David Ubben of The Athletic is reporting that outside linebackers coach Shelton Felton and inside linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer are both being fired for cause.
Tennessee Chancellor Donde Plowman has confirmed this news.
Tennessee is scheduled to hold a press conference at 3 p.m. ET to discuss the findings of its internal investigation.
Felton is the reason Big Cat Bryant was going to UT
Big Kat and Steele gotta be sayin wtf have I stepped in…
I’m in search of another school to go for. I can’t go through this anymore. Lol Would like to stay in the SEC. lol
I’d recommend Bama at least until Saban retires…he seldom disappoints
Sellout POS
You hurt bro? Can’t take a joke? You’re one of these guys that is probably in your room with the lights out crying right now. This isn’t your entire life I hope is being a fan. If so. I’d try to find a new hobby. Lol Gb
Sellout POS.
Go for Ole Miss :)
Just say….M-I-Z!
The hits just keep on coming. Looks like Operation Clean Sweep is in beast mode.
He got caught doing Bama stuff!
A quick look at the NCAA website shows that it is more like Auburn stuff.
Wow they fired dang near everyone that has anything to do with quality control and recruiting. Pruitt, neidermeyer and felton are the big names but sounds like maybe 4-5 more behind the scenes admin people. I know its a political correct announcement but they said they were genuinely shocked by the quantity of violations and numbers of people involved at UT. I was thinking earlier they would probably settle with pruitt eventually but that may not happen and based on what I know (which admittedly isnt enough) I hope they dont settle with him. If this was what they say it is then he does not deserve a penny. It sounds extremely serious and in-depth. Obviously they dont go into the details of the violations… but we will learn more in the coming months after the NCAA does their investigation and punishment comes down. The punishment could be pretty devastating if its as bad as they make it sound. May have to keep steele as an interim for a couple years to get off probation, sanctions… Hope they made it sound worse than it is.
As slow as the NCAA goes, I bet you know no more when next season starts than you know now.
“If I’m going down, we all are going down.”
Hey Big Cat should have stayed at Auburn
Maybe. Something tells me this was expected. It wouldn’t surprise me to see TWill and Garner on the sidelines next year in creamsicle orange.
…creamsicle orange…too funny!
This is bad. This is vandy will be better than us for a few years bad.
LMAO
At least the Vols get to play home games half the season. Vandy plays an away game every week even with a small “home” stadium.
Would someone please tell me what the moral to this story is?
Would it go something like? …cheaters don’t…
money talks…
If Big Kat was anything special, he would be preparing for the draft, instead of playing a 5th year of college football.
Exactly
I think he would have been drafted in, no worse, that the first 3 rounds if not for the injuries this year.
