Knoxville was in a complete frenzy on Thursday — primarily because of one man.

That man is Jon Gruden, the one who many Volunteers fans view as the hopeful savior of Tennessee football.

Thursday began with Gruden praising Tennessee’s fight song, “Rocky Top,” on a Seattle radio station.

Following the fight song love was a credible report circulating that UT athletic director John Currie and the Vols’ power brokers had made their pitch to Gruden to coach the Vols.

There was even a media stakeout at the Knoxville airport to see if Gruden would be getting off a private plane.

It was quite a day.

Vegas, and more specifically, BetOnline, adjusted their odds accordingly on the betting favorites to become the Vols’ next coach.

Gruden is still the front-runner, and his odds have improved from +180 to +165.

Dan Mullen isn’t far behind Gruden at +280, while Mike Norvell rounds out the Top 3 with +350 odds.
