Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers are hoping for a big year offensively when the 2022 season kicks off.
On Sunday, Heupel spoke to the media about one of the potential big-name additions to the Vols’ receiving corps — USC transfer Bru McCoy.
McCoy has yet to be cleared to play for the Vols this year, as he needs a waiver from the NCAA after transferring from USC to Texas and then back to USC since beginning his college career in 2019. But, Heupel said he’s confident things are moving in the right direction:
Heupel on WR transfer Bru McCoy: Been in contact with the people we need to… We feel good about where that is going. Bru is healthy and wants to compete at training camp.

McCoy played 6 games for USC in 2020, recording 21 catches for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Can he become a key contributor in a receiving corps that already boasts star Cedric Tillman? We’ll find out this fall if McCoy is granted a waiver.
