Report: Multiple Tennessee players arrested, face drug charges
Before he even has an opportunity to coach his team on the field for the start of spring practice, Josh Heupel will reportedly have to deal with an off-the-field issue at Tennessee.
According to the Knoxville-based NBC affiliate WBIR, three Volunteers were recently arrested by campus police for simple possession and drug paraphernalia.
Those players are redshirt freshman Martavius French, and true freshmen Isaac Washington and Aaron Willis. All three are defensive players.
French did not see the field last season for the Vols after signing as a four-star member of the 2020 recruiting cycle. Willis is the highest-rated player left in Tennessee’s 2021 signing class following a few departures.
Washington was ranked as a three-star member of Tennessee’s 2021 signing class.
While I have no problem laughing at the dumb Hillbillies for continually stoking their own dumpster fire with idiot decisions and whatnot, this is just stupid.
I thought with the D’s in control of the country they were going to finally legalize marijuana, as it should be? What the heck are they waiting for in D.C.? Get it done!
D’s in washington have nothing to do with legalization of weed. its a state gov thing. But maybe since the state of Georgia likes them Dems they would see to it that Georgia decriminalizes weed
No, it’s literally a federal thing.
Marijuana, for some insane reason, is a schedule 1 drug with heroin and cocaine and other narcotics. Marijuana is not an narcotic and it should not be treated the same.
If it’s legalized on the federal level, it’s legalized everywhere.
You can thank The Crook Nixon and Doofus Reagan for the marijuana laws
Nobody’s perfect. Reagan’s as close as we’ve gotten in the Oval Office since Lincoln, but even he made mistakes. Meaning Reagan AND Lincoln.
Wow. Reagan was responsible for the crack epidemic supporting the Nicaraguan war shipping guns south and the coke coming north.
They sell the coke and the cash bought more guns repeat repeat repeat.
All speared by the cia. All the while lil ole lady Nancy was saying, “Just say No”
Our government had been a shatstorm of lying horse dung humans since Kennedy.
Quick google disproves that entire claim.
Irvin, do you havé a job or life. All you do is get on all the UT sites and call us hillbillies and TRY to put us down. Dude I would rather be a hillbilly then a GA redneck any day. These guys will still be on the team. Yes it was a stupid decision but what college kid doesn’t smoke at least sometimes.
Nah. It’s just fun as all get out to continually laugh at you dumb hillbillies for, as I said, continually stoking your own dumpster fire.
This is not that, though.
POS
Not what’s fun is what the NCAA will do to y’all now that Butt Sniffer Smart had someone blow the lid on you guys
Y’all definitely should have had held onto Richt
Lighten up, Francis. That’s what this site is all about. Razzing our rival hillbillies. Don’t take it so personal.
If I was in college. I wouldn’t be smoking sometimes!!!! And I’ve never touched pot or crack or street drugs!!! I have never smoked a cigarette and if pot is sooooo innocent. Why can’t people leave it alone???? ITS ADDICTIVE AND I’M NOT FOR LEGALIZING IT!!!!!
PS. It kills and kills brain cells!!!! College students are throwing away NFL CONTRACTS AND MILLIONS TO SMOKE POT!!!
Negan
Stoking their own dumpster fire. Well said.
POS
Volfan, believe it or not, there are 23 other letters in the alphabet and maybe you will learn to use them someday.
Don’t be a dumb ass. Bad behavior doesn’t have to be illegal to make it wrong for football team members.
If it’s bad behavior AND it’s illegal it’s just a lot worse. If fans are this stupid, no wonder team members reflect the low intelligence of the public.
Sleep, study, diet, and all health and training habits are the business of the coaching staff. Those student athletes who don’t feel they can handle a higher quality college experience need to give up college athletics and just be lower class or lower college and lower class goal un-setters.
I imagine that Heupel is involved in these round-ups and this is a wise part of his rebuilding effort.
Totally agree my friend. The insanity of criminalizing must stop. Take their stuff, give them a stern talking to and let them on their way. There is nothing to see here except young men probably being a little stupid I would assume? (We don’t know the whole story). Also, if one uses it the appropriate way, cannabis can be a wonderful elixir for many things.
I’m glad we backed off French the week before he was scheduled to commit to us. There were several red flags.
You guys aren’t really in a position to turn anyone down. But glad we took him. He is a beast. Made a stupid decision. But it’s not get kicked off the team type stuff. He will make an impact eventually. I expect Willis to play this season some at least.
Because adding players to the roster who will embarrass Tennessee is what UT needs right now? You might want to look at your first sentence because your argument is why UT can’t afford to turn players down or away right now.
Haha. “he’s a beast”. Limited vocabulary. Its easy to see whose program isn’t “really in a position to turn anyone down”. Your program is in the crapper for years to come.
This is purely a Heupel call, but if He gives these players a pass his new program standards become way harder to enforce from this point forward. The magnitude of these three players bad choices is significant. The workload it adds to the coaching staff to monitor these players (if they keep them) is significant. If they continue to drug it up they could take more of the roster with them. Remember how much better Dorial Beckham Green could have been if he hadn’t been a drug-head. He was a pain in the ass the entire time he was at Missouri, #1 recruit in the nation, all positions considered. What a waste. Some of you guys that are writing in here trying to say “oh it’s just pot, and it should be illegal”, What is your point?, really?, It these football team members were just staying up to late, or not hitting the books, or not going to class, it would be bad enough. If I’m in Heupel’s place, I’m making these guys take drug tests, assigning a tutor to them every night, making their life so structured that everyone knows they are not screwing up again. In other words their life as a normal college student/football player is on hold for about a year. And this is a piece of work the new Tennessee program just doesn’t need.
Shonuff, the same “Ga. Tards” make the same stupid comments on the Gators site. The only reason to continually try to put another down or disparage another person is because your insecure and/or jealous. It’s textbook psychology 101 and they are failing class miserably. They don’t comment anything about SEC football, they only live for the negative comments towards another team. Insecure, jealous, obsession, look up the meaning of those and you’ll find them there.
I guess losing to Tennessee and Florida once each in a coach’s career at Georgia would breed insecurity.
Dude stop coming on here slandering my cousin name is you going to talk speak facts. My cousin committed to Arkanslaw July 23,2019. And on October 20, 2019 he decommitted from Arkanslaw to play at Tennessee with two of his high school teammates in Bryson Eason and Tamarion McDonald. He got caught with possession of weed what college student you know that doesn’t smoke or drink. There were not red flags you just talking nonsense my cousin was recruited by top teams around the nation Arkanslaw hasn’t been good since Darren McFadden days you shouldn’t care who comes to Fayetteville last time you all were relevant Jerry Jones was competing for Super Bowls lol
And there is the problem. Folks defending team violations. Never mind the law, its just another problem with no control over a program. I dont know or care what the circumstances with Arkansas was, but its clear your Vols are now back seat to Arkansas and most others. Your guilty of what you just accused the Hog fan of doing….nonsense.
Dude, he was caught taking things from players lockers while he was our GUEST on his OV by Razorback staffers, that’s why he was asked to leave immediately and couldn’t attend the BBQ at CCM’s house.
His offer was rescinded and if you don’t think theft is a “red flag”, I cant help you.
If I was stuck playing for UT I’d turn to drugs, too!
Sad when your top recruit gets arrested before ever putting on a helmet.
LOL
Sad thing is I agree with you lol
He had to sell dope because the McDonald’s bags are under heavy surveillance.
Talk about a mess! Thy name is UT.
Tennessee Football has just surpassed Dumpster Fire 2.0 and is now Dumpster Fire 5G.
We all know TN football is a joke…..but the GA trash talkers are even funnier. The SEC team most known for choking at the big games makes fun of others. GA’s history of getting their butts kicked in the big games in recent history is legendary, puts them on the hay wagon with TN!
New ringmaster same old circus.
Just watching a program in flames…crash and burn. Hard to watch.
From Rocky Top…the “hits” just keep on coming. Welcome to Tennessee football coach Heupel.
You have got to feel a little sorry for the UT fans, no fan base deserves this much adversity. There has got to be an end to all of these issues sometime in the immediate future. Some coach or Administrator needs to step up and say “enough” and get UT football back on track. Just remember UT admin, it’s the fans that pay for tickets and fill up the stadium.
Brick by brick. Champions of life.
Well, all those jumping to the defense of these players might want to rethink it. There is also a connecting investigation to the same players for assualt and robbery on March 9. We’ll see how this pans out. ESPN report says five involved in the assault, including these three. If they were involved, you wont have to worry too much about a misdemeanor drug charge.
And the hits just keep on coming. Hopefully the new HC can reverse the culture problems with the program and the players but he sure has big challenges ahead.
