Regarded by many as a borderline draft pick entering his senior season in Knoxville, perhaps no NFL prospect has elevated his stock in a year’s time more than former Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs.

Following strong performances at the Senior Bowl, the NFL Combine and finally at Tennessee’s Pro Day last week, Dobbs could be sneaking into Round 2 discussion. This according to long-time ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr., who made the comment Wednesday during a conference call.

That’s quite the turnaround in a year’s time for any prospect but arguably even more impressive for a quarterback with four years of film to be evaluated on. Even if Dobbs doesn’t get picked in the second round and is selected in the draft’s third round, he stands to profit enormously when compared to being taken on the final day of the draft.
