The Volunteers finished the regular season as one of the SEC’s hottest teams, only LSU can currently claim a winning streak longer than Tennessee’s five-game stretch to close the season in the league, but that didn’t stop some members of Vol Nation from getting impatient at the program’s recruiting efforts during that time.

Tennessee entered the Early Signing Period hovering around a top 25 recruiting class ranking but after landing five of its top five top targets on Wednesday, Pruitt’s program proves again why its one of the SEC’s best closers.

The big day for the program began with the commitment of four-star athlete Len’Neth Whitehead, which was followed by massive three-star lineman Reginald Perry, then Mississippi all-state quarterback Jimmy Holiday and finally four-star in-state defender Tyler Baron.

That many commitments would be a great day for many programs but Tennessee just closed with another big get as Florida pass rusher Morven Joseph announced his commitment to Tennessee.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Joseph is rated as a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 18 weakside defensive end according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Joseph was named Florida 6A Player of the Year following an outstanding senior season with Lake Gibson High School.

During his recruitment, Joseph had been committed to Florida and Florida State at different times but thanks to Pruitt and company never giving up on his recruitment, the Sunshine State native will play his college football on Rocky Top.
