Tennessee will be without one of its veteran wideouts for at least the start of the season.

Jimmy Hyams of WNML reported Sunday that Vols WR Josh Smith will be out 4-8 weeks due to an apparent broken collarbone suffered in Sunday’s practice. Smith, who has a long history of injuries, will undergo more tests on his shoulder Monday morning. He had double groin surgery in January and ankle surgery several years ago.

As a redshirt junior, Smith appeared in 12 games last season and made six starts. He caught 13 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. Smith’s best season was 2015 when he caught 23 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns.
