With a heavy heart, Ryan Johnson said farewell to Tennessee’s football program on Monday.

The redshirt junior lineman has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal and plans to leave Rocky Top as a graduate transfer this offseason, he announced on Monday.

Johnson has played in every game of his Tennessee career and entered the season with a 16 game starting streak. While he has plenty of experience, Johnson lost his starting role on Tennessee’s offensive line this season but continued to battle for time on the field this season. He started against Georgia State and BYU this season.

The Brentwood, Tenn., native was a four-star signee in Tennessee’s 2016 signing class.

Following his decision to leave Tennessee, Johnson issued the following statement on Twitter:
