Tennessee adds QB from North Carolina to its 2021 recruiting class
The Tennessee Volunteers landed 4-star dual-threat QB Kaidon Salter as one of the key members of their 2021 recruiting class.
On Friday afternoon, though, they also added another quarterback to that class as a preferred walk-on.
As you can see below, Sullivan McDermott, a QB from Marvin Ridge High School in North Carolina, announced on Twitter that he was forgoing his senior season to enroll at Tennessee:

McDermott will be a preferred walk-on for the Vols. In addition to McDermott and Salter, the Vols also added Virginia Tech transfer QB Hendon Hooker to the mix this offseason.
McDermott has yet to be rated by any of the major recruiting services. Tennessee’s 2021 recruiting class ranked No. 15 in the nation and No. 6 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
Below, check out some of McDermott’s high school highlights, courtesy of Hudl:
With a name like Hooker playing QB you gotta love that.
Hmmm. We have the wildcat now that everyone one has adopted. Maybe the Hooker Snooker? Runs in as a wideout…or slotback.
Not sure why a kid would want to go to Tennessee right now
A Texas fan talking asking why a kid would want to go to another pathetic irrelevant program is quite comical. “Weeee’reeee Baaaccckkk”
Best state in the country my man
If it weren’t for Tennessee, there wouldn’t be a Texas.
Hey….that’s right.
The whole house is being cleared for a restart. There will be some great opportunities for field time for some folks who fell like they need a chance other than backup. Will it work out? Who would know, but you sure aren’t going to transfer to a school that is already loaded at your position, although admittedly Texas is not but Texas is the kid on the block that everyone loves to hate, for good reason.
