Tennessee DB Doneiko Slaughter has made it official that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Slaughter took to social media on Monday to share a farewell note, reflecting on his time on Rocky Top.

“Expressing my gratitude for the tremendous support, development, and love I’ve experienced during my time at the University of Tennessee,” Slaughter wrote. “The relationships I’ve built with my brothers and staff have been invaluable, contributing significantly to my growth as both an athlete and an individual. The support from Volnation has made this university feel like a home.

“However, after careful consideration, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. This decision is about my personal growth and aspirations and in no way diminishes the gratitude and love I feel for the University of Tennessee. I am sincerely thankful for the opportunities and memories here.”

Slaughter was at Tennessee for 4 seasons. He played in 33 games, making multiple starts over the past 2 seasons. Slaughter departs Knoxville with 87 career tackles, including 5.5 for loss with 3 sacks. In coverage, Slaughter logged 7 passes defended with 1 interception over his UT career.

We’ll see what’s next for the experienced defensive back from Roswell, Georgia.
