Tennessee football will be donning its “Dark Mode” threads for this weekend’s battle against Kentucky at Neyland Stadium. The Vols’ alternate look has become a fan-favorite since being re-introduced in 2021 with the arrival of Josh Heupel.

The Vols have opted for the Dark Mode jerseys a few times since it was introduced, usually wearing the look once or twice a year. With Halloween coming just 2 days before kickoff, this week seems appropriate.

Tennessee was very creative with their uniform reveal this week, too. The Vols’ social media team included a symbiote from Venom, showing the full transformation from an orange jersey to black.

Check it out:

The Vols face a Kentucky team that has struggled mightily across the past month. The Wildcats lost 3 straight after downing No. 6 Ole Miss at the end of September and enter Week 10 with one of the worst offensive attacks of any power program this season. Only Stanford, Houston, Michigan, Northwestern, Oklahoma, UCLA and Florida State have posted lower total offense numbers entering Week 10.

That’s trouble facing a defense like the Vols at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee has been lights out on that end of the field this year, led by James Pearce and a monster defensive line.

Tennessee vs. Kentucky will take place under the lights, with kickoff set for 7:45 p.m. on the SEC Network.
