Jabari Small is reportedly joining Jaylen Wright in opting out of the Vols’ upcoming bowl matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

According to a report from Knox News, Small has not been practicing with Tennessee during bowl practices and will not fly to Jacksonville on Wednesday with the rest of the team. This comes just a week after Wright announced that he would be entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Small has not made an announcement on his future at Tennessee.

Tennessee’s backfield depth is a concern heading into its date with a strong Hawkeyes defense. Dylan Sampson will assume RB1 duties, with Cam Seldon and Khalifa Keith likely getting some run as well.

Sampson was arguably Tennessee’s 2nd-best running back this season in a truly loaded room with 3 NFL talents. Wright was one of the best running backs in the conference, but Sampson finished his sophomore regular season with 86 carries for 471 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Small, on the other hand, finished with 95 caries for 475 yards and 2 touchdowns.
