Tennessee linebacker Kivon Bennett is reportedly facing multiple charges following an arrest on Tuesday morning.

According to KnoxNews.com’s Blake Toppmeyer, Bennett is facing four drug and gun charges.

Toppmeyer’s report, citing online records, says police found 44 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a hand gun after searching his car on Tuesday morning.

Head coach Jeremy Pruitt has already dismissed Bennett from the team.

“Kivon Bennett has been dismissed from our football program following a traffic stop earlier today,” Pruitt said in a statement Tuesday evening. “There is a standard our student-athletes are expected to uphold at Tennessee, and today’s incident fell well short of that standard.”

Bennett had been one of Tennessee’s best defensive players this season. The junior linebacker has 4.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss this season. He also scored a touchdown on a scoop-and-score vs. Georgia.

The Volunteers are 2-5 this season and have lost five straight games.

Tennessee hosts Florida this weekend and then will face Texas A&M on Dec. 12 to end its regular season.
