Tennessee WR Squirrel White reportedly set to enter transfer portal

Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White is looking for a change of scenery as he’s reportedly expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
That news was first shared by On3’s Pete Nakos, who added that a move “closer to home” will be his priority at his next destination. White is an Alabama native.
He’s been a big part of the Vols’ production on offense and Tennessee history for that matter. He departs from the team as 7th in career receptions (131), and 18th in career receiving yards (1,665). He has one year of eligibility remaining, having shown a high level of consistency up to this point.
White totals 34 receptions for 381 yards with 2 touchdowns on the 2024 season. It will be interesting to see where he lands next as a player who could become practically an instant asset for the next team he lands with. He had the best season of his career in 2023 when he caught 67 passes for 803 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
The wideout could have replicated and perhaps even built upon those numbers this season, but he was hampered by injuries that did affect his stat line to the point that it saw him reach a career low of 381 receiving yards.
White originally signed with Tennessee as a 4-star prospect out of Clay-Chalkville High School in Alabama out of the 2022 signing class.
