Tennessee’s recruiting struggles continued this week when Kristian Story of Lanett, AL., announced that he had decided to re-open his recruitment. Story was Tennessee’s first commit for the 2020 class but after five months, he has backed off his pledge.

According to 247Sports, Story is the No. 7 athlete in the 2020 class and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Alabama.

“I have been thinking about this a lot the last three or four weeks,” Story told Rivals. “I talked to my family about it and I just feel I rushed into my commitment. On my visit to Tennessee, I had a great feeling. In hindsight, I realize I made a commitment too early.”

Alabama, Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi State and Nebraska are schools that Story says he now will take a look at. While he has re-opened his recruitment, Story says he still will consider Tennessee.

“Oh yeah, Tennessee is still one of my favorite schools. I still like them. I just committed to them too fast. It is nothing against them.”
