Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society during a news conference at the Ray and Lucy Hand Digital Studio on UT’s campus Tuesday. Dobbs was surprised with the confirmation of his membership before speaking with local media members.

The ODK Leadership Society recognizes achievements in several areas of campus life including scholarship, athletics, performing arts and campus service.

“To be a part of a group that is very prestigious is an honor and a privilege and I am very thankful to be a part of it,” Dobbs said.

Only juniors and seniors in the top 35 percent of their class are eligible for induction. Other members of the ODK Leadership Society include former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning and late women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt.

Dobbs’ initiation is scheduled for Nov. 15 in the Howard Baker Center and will be attended by UT faculty members, as well as President Emeritus and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society member Dr. Joe Johnson, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
