Vanderbilt is off to a rough start this season as the Commodores fell to 34-10 against UNLV to drop to a 1-5 record on the season.

The Commodores have faced issues across the board, from play at quarterback, struggles on the offensive line, and getting the ball to key skill players enough.

The loss on Saturday drops coach Derek Mason’s record to 25-43 in his sixth year in Nashville. It was especially troubling against a team in a similar position as Vanderbilt. UNLV got just its second win of the season.

UNLV reeled of 17 points in the second quarter to take a 24-10 lead at halftime, then outscored the Commodores 10-0 in the second half, with all of the scoring in the fourth quarter.
