Report: Former Bears QB Jay Cutler lands NFL broadcasting role
Jay Cutler is indeed going the Tony Romo route, as the former Chicago quarterback has reportedly agreed to a deal to join FOX Sports as an NFL analyst. Cutler played 11 seasons in the NFL for both Denver and Chicago after playing his college football at Vanderbilt.
FOX Sports has been in the market to add a former player to its NFL coverage following the departure of John Lynch, who was hired to be San Francisco’s general manager. News of Cutler’s interest in joining the broadcast booth was released Thursday, with Peter Schrager of FOX Sports and the NFL reporting that an agreement has been reached.
NEWS. It’s official. Jay Cutler has been hired by @nflonfox . Will join Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis in the booth this season.

Cutler threw for 32,467 yards, 208 touchdowns, and 146 interceptions during his NFL career — only making the playoffs one time in 2010. He was selected by the Broncos with the No. 11 overall selection in the 2006 NFL Draft.
Before deciding to go to FOX, Jay Cutler had real discussions with Jets, and less-promising ones with Texans. Cutler opted for analyst role.
