Back in the spring, Vanderbilt announced its Vandy United Fund that was launched in order to raise $300 million to help the university renovate its athletic facilities. It was successful, and now there are plans in place for those upgrades to take place.

While it’s not known when these renovations will be complete, Commodores fans can at least now get a glimpse of what changes are going to be made and how they’re going to look.

On Friday, Vanderbilt released some renderings of the projects. Among the more noticeable renovations was highlighted in a tweet that showed Vanderbilt Stadium will become a closed stadium with the upgrades being made near the end zones:

As Robbie Weinstein of 247Sports.com also pointed out, Vanderbilt will be closing Jess Neely Dr. to traffic and is clearly going to be expanding its basketball facility. These are all changes that should make everything better for Commodores student-athletes and the fans.

“Vandy United represents our vision for what is possible for Vanderbilt Athletics, as well as our commitment to bring that vision to life,” Vanderbilt athletic director Candice Storey Lee said, per Weinstein. “After months of hard work to create and refine designs that reflect and honor who we are as a university, these initial renderings are another important step in our journey. Much work remains to transform renderings into reality, but it is easier today to see where we are headed.”

Now that these upgrades have been visualized, it will be exciting to see them come to fruition in the near future, whenever that may be.
