Vanderbilt quarterback Ken Seals announced Sunday afternoon that he will be entering the transfer portal after 4 seasons in Nashville.

Seals will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining upon entering the portal thanks to a Covid-19 season in 2020 and a redshirt season in 2022.

Seals had a good career at Vanderbilt despite all of the Commodores’ struggles. His best season came in 2020 when he threw for just under 200 yards with 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, completing 64% of his passes. His completion percentage has fallen off a cliff since then, now hovering around 58%.

He’s split a good amount of reps with AJ Swann, who played almost all of last season in Seals’ place. Swann started this season as well before suffering a few separate injuries that come from passing behind one of the weaker offensive lines in the SEC.

Seals is likely to transfer down and out of the Power 5 following this season after struggling to keep a starting job with the Commodores.
