Former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims has found a new home in the Land Down Under. Sims signed with the Wollongon Devils of the National Gridiron League in Australia, which kicks off its first season in October, according to AussieNational.com.

Sims is one of three quarterbacks competing for a starting job on Wollongong’s roster after failing to see playing time in the NFL and CFL. The 6-foot, 212-pound quarterback threw for an Alabama record 3,487 yards, rushed for 350 yards and scored 35 total touchdowns (28 passing, seven rushing) while leading Alabama to a College Football Playoff appearance during his senior season.

“I think that Blake’s athleticism, his production (in 2014), are things that people are going to have to take into account,” Nick Saban said after Sims’ Pro Day. “There are more and more offenses that people are willing to utilize a guy like him. So I do think Blake has a lot to offer a team, and I do think he’s going to get an opportunity with someone.”
