If uncommitted five-star defensive end Byron Cowart has it his way, he’ll bring fellow five-star pass rusher CeCe Jefferson along with four-star linebacker Jeffery Holland with him to Auburn on signing day.

Those three prospects along with several other five-star targets including Terry Beckner Jr., Martez Ivey and Terry Godwin met with the Tigers’ coaching staff over the weekend on their official visit to the Plains, a major multi-day event that Gus Malzahn hopes left a lasting impression.

Cowart (Seffner, Fla.) told various media outlets including 247Sports and Rivals that he appreciates the ‘family vibe’ he has received at Auburn and believes Jefferson (Glen Saint Mary, Fla.) and Holland (Jacksonville, Fla.) will follow him to his final destination. The Tigers are said to have the edge on in-state Florida for Cowart and Jefferson since Will Muschamp recruited both players for an extended period during his time with the Gators.

Muschamp, along with linebackers coach and former Alabama assistant Lance Thompson, met with all three players this weekend:

“We will all play at the same school because we know we can make an impact,” Cowart told AuburnUndercover. “I don’t think people understand, you can be a great player, but you can’t make an impact by yourself. You have to have a team, some guys that will go with you to change the program around. It was great. We had fun, it felt like family. It was the first time I was able to go on a visit and just relax. I asked myself tough questions, but I felt at home. My mom liked it. Me, CeCe, Jeff, we all liked it.”

Jefferson named Ole Miss his leader on Dec. 29. He still has an official visit to LSU scheduled at the end of the month and may head to Florida this weekend along with Cowart on his planned visit. Cowart will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., on Jan. 30.

It’s not likely Auburn will sway Ivey however, a dominant 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle out of Apopka, Fla.

On Sunday, four-star athlete Tim Irvin was the first domino to fall, committing to Malzahn after telling Charlie Strong and Texas he was dropping his verbal the previous night. Irvin plans to fly back to Auburn this week to start classes.

Ohio State commit Torrance Gibson, a four-star dual-threat quarterback, may be wavering on his choice after speaking with Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee. The two appear to be ready to hand Gibson the keys to the Tigers’ offense as the possible second-team guy behind Jeremy Johnson.

Defensive tackle Beckner Jr. (East Saint Louis, Ill.), the No. 1 remaining target on Mizzou’s board, did not speak with the media following his visit. On Saturday, Mizzou JUCO defensive end commit Marcell Frazier guaranteed Beckner Jr. would sign with the Tigers:
