Moments ago, Florida junior offensive tackle David Sharpe announced via Twitter his decision to skip his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

A two-year starter at left tackle, Sharpe (6-foot-6, 357 pounds) is expected to come off the board somewhere between the third and fourth round come late April.

Per WalterFootball.com:

“Sharpe is a tough run blocker who is generally reliable in pass protection. …For the NFL, Sharpe is a better run blocker and needs to develop his pass protection. Sources believe Sharpe would be better off as a right tackle in the NFL. He should return for his senior year, drop some weight, and work on improving his fundamentals in pass coverage.”

With Sharpe moving on from the program, Gators fans can likely expect redshirt sophomore Kavaris Harkless to slide into his role as the full-time blindside protector in 2017.
