The future is very uncertain for Florida Gators defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson. As the Gators’ ace recruiter, Robinson is a valued commodity in Gainesville, but he’s also wanted elsewhere.

Will Muschamp, Auburn’s new defensive coordinator, is pushing for Robinson to join him Auburn. The two have a very strong relationship from their days together at Florida and with Auburn being Robinson’s alma mater, the move to the Tigers could make a lot of sense for him.

However, no official decision has been made and Robinson plays a huge role for the Gators on the recruiting trail as the program’s main recruiter for South Florida.

So if Robinson does leave, where would the loss be felt the most?

To give you an idea of the talent Robinson has brought in to Florida during his time with the Gators, here are his top commits according to 247sports. These are players he had a direct role in recruiting to Florida.

  • Vernon Hargreaves
  • Jalen Tabor
  • Marcell Harris
  • Keanu Neal
  • Caleb Brantley

As for the class of 2015, Robinson has been involved in several high-profile recruitment pitches for the Gators. In Jim McElwain’s first week as Florida’s head coach, Robinson was seen alongside the new head coach on various visits.

Robinson is also involved in recruiting four-star athlete Tim Irvin and three-star wide receiver Antonio Callaway. Four-star running back Jordan Scarlett is another target for Robinson. Scarlett is committed to Miami, but is slated to take an official visit to Florida after the recruiting dead period is over.

If Robinson does stay at Florida, that would be huge news for the Gators. South Florida constantly produces some of the best talent in the entire state, and even in the entire country. Losing the continuity and the relationships built by Robinson in that area would certainly be a step back for McElwain and the Gators, especially when relationships are ultimately the deciding factor for most recruits in the end.
