One of four SEC teams rumored to wear black jerseys this season, LSU last donned alternate Nike uniforms during the 2011 campaign, sporting an all-white Pro Combat combination.

That alternated followed another Pro Combat (2009) and Hurricane Katrina Relief (2007) sets.

Nike’s last minor alteration to the Tigers’ preferred jersey came in 2012 when the Swoosh decided it was time to cut the shoulder stripes short a bit, stopping at the collarbone just above the sleeve opening.

As far as apparel changes for the 2015 campaign, the best LSU fans can hope for is several new gloves and cleats options for the Tigers. LSU often stays ahead of the curve in the footwear department as one of Nike’s prized schools often in the national television spotlight in prime-time.

Purple pants with yellow and white striping is still a look I’d like to see added to LSU’s uniform options on the road — or perhaps an all-purple home alternate — but it’s not going to happen at a program that sides with tradition when it comes to on-field apparel.
