Once an LSU Tiger, always an LSU Tiger.

The 46 former LSU players in the NFL received special care packages from their alma mater this week, according to ESPN.com.

With three former Tigers on the defense, the Atlanta Falcons have a strong tie to LSU. Former LSU DT Tyson Jackson said he really appreciated the gesture from his school:

“It’s awesome knowing that I’ve been away from school almost nine years now and to know that you still have coaches and people that work in administration who still think about their players. It says a lot about the school,” said Jackson, who receives such packages annually from LSU. “It says a lot about the standard the school represents.”

The packages included a customized gold jersey like the ones LSU wore against Mississippi State earlier this season, a hat, cleats and a jacket:

Second-year CB Jalen Collins said he has special plans for his gold jersey:

“That was really cool, especially the jerseys, because we didn’t get to wear different jerseys like that,” Collins said. “It was usually the white, and occasionally the purple. When they do a special jersey, it’s always kind of cool. And for them to send that to us, it means they’re still showing love.

“The jersey was the dopest thing. I’ll probably get that thing framed.”

The classy gesture from LSU goes a long way to showing the school still cares about its former players. Nicely done, Tigers.
