Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says he was pleased by the Rebels’ performance Saturday during a 76-3 season-opening win over UT-Martin.

Freeze addressed Laremy Tunsil’s absence, Robert Nkemdiche’s offensive touchdown and more during his post-game presser:

“I’m excited about all of our young kids (who got) to come in and make plays and to seem them enjoying the game of football. It’s a grind in this game and seeing guys get to do that is really rewarding.”

“(Chad Kelly) was really solid. Missed a touchdown throw to Evan and probably could’ve thrown one a little bit better on the fade to Laquon (Treadwell) earlier in the game. Thought he had a solid day. Look forward to watching the film, but felt pretty good about it out there.”

“I thought (Laquon) was just average. I mean, he looked explosive. It’s really good to see him grt tackled and bounce back up. He’s just got to get to some more plays. I’ve probably done him an injustice by preparing him, maybe been too over-protective. Now this will help him the first few games.”
