Ole Miss squares off against TCU in Atlanta’s Peach Bowl on Dec. 31, 2014 at 12:30 p.m.

Many SEC fans have been to Atlanta for football games whether it was a neutral site game, the SEC Championship Game or bowl game. Of course, many Ole Miss fans traveled to Atlanta to watch the Rebels take on Boise State to kick off the 2014 season at the Georgia Dome.

If you’re visiting Atlanta for the first time or are looking for some new information, here are some tips as you take in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl.

WHERE TO STAY:

  • Staying Downtown will offer the closest proximity to the Georgia Dome. Options to consider include the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Embassy Suites Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park or Omni Hotel at City Center. Midtown hotels and Atlantic Station are also nearby.
  • Buckhead is a popular area in northern Atlanta (inside the perimeter). There are a large number of hotel options including a Westin, JW Marriott, Grand Hyatt and a number of lower cost options.
  • The Perimeter Mall area of Atlanta is a bit further out, but still a popular area for travelers. Check out the Le Meridien, Hampton Inn or the InterContinental.

THINGS TO DO

  • Near the Georgia Dome are a number of excellent attractions including the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and the new College Football Hall of Fame
  • If you’re looking to get out of the city, Stone Mountain is fantastic for hiking or just being outdoors. If you want to hang out outdoors without the trip out of the city, check out Piedmont Park.
  • Atlantic Station near Midtown has plenty of shopping, restaurants and a movie theater.
  • Lennox Mall and Phipps Plaza in Buckhead are upscale shopping malls.
  • Looking for something more historical? Check out the Martin Luther King National Historical Site.

GETTING TO THE STADIUM

MARTA is a popular way to get to the stadium, but if you prefer to have our own car, there are plenty of parking options within walking distance to the Georgia Dome.
