We’re just 10 days until the 2015 college football season kicks off.

In fact, one of the first two games in the entire country involves South Carolina, which faces North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series between the schools 34-18-4, but South Carolina has won the last two and five of the last six meetings.

RELATED: 10 non-SEC games that will impact the College Football Playoff

That’s a solid matchup, but it doesn’t make the cut for our Top 20 games of the year.

20. Oklahoma at Tennessee, Sept. 12: The Vols appear on the rise under Butch Jones, and a win here could cement their renewed status as national players.

19. Ohio State at Virginia Tech, Sept. 7: Buckeyes are first team ever to be a unanimous No. 1 in the Associated Press preseason Top 25. But they are down four suspended players for this game against the only team to beat OSU in 2014. Then again, that proved you can lose an early-season game and still make the College Football Playoff.

18. Ole Miss at Alabama, Sept. 19: Will either team even get to 10 points here? Two terrific defenses, and the winner gets an early leg up in the West Division.

17. Boise State vs. BYU, Sept. 12: Don’t laugh. Remember that one non-Power 5 school is guaranteed a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl. If Boise wins this, the Broncos could run the table and threaten to crash the playoff.

16. Georgia at Georgia Tech, Nov. 28: Let’s say the Dawgs somehow beat both Alabama and Auburn in the regular season and have the SEC East wrapped up by this game. Could a Jackets upset then keep an SEC champion out of the playoff if UGA wins the conference title game the following week?

15. UCLA at USC, Nov. 28: I expect this game to decide the Pac-12 South winner.

14. Notre Dame at Clemson, Oct. 3: If the Irish win this game and beat Southern Cal, they will be in the College Football Playoff. But I don’t see them going to Death Valley and pulling the upset as long as Tigers QB DeShaun Watson is healthy.

13. Oklahoma at Baylor, Nov. 14: It’s the University of Oklahoma, yet the school calls itself OU. Just saying.

12. Southern Cal at Notre Dame, Oct. 17: Tough non-conference game in the middle of the Pac-12 season for the Trojans. Irish could stamp themselves as playoff contenders with a win.

11. Oregon at Stanford, Nov. 14: Stanford seems to have figured out how to beat Oregon: bludgeon the Ducks with a power running game.

10. Ohio State at Michigan, Nov. 28: I ranked the 10 non-SEC games that will impact the playoff last week and called this the best rivalry in college football. That may not be true this decade, but you have to consider the entirety of history. Ohio State and Michigan are national programs. And this rivalry will only get better with Urban Meyer vs. Jim Harbaugh.

9. TCU at Oklahoma, Nov. 21: This is probably TCU’s only chance of losing a regular-season game until it hosts Baylor on Nov. 27.

8. Georgia at Auburn, Nov. 14: Have to give Dawgs the early edge here as they have an easier lead-in game (vs. Kentucky) than Auburn (at Texas A&M).

7. Oregon at Michigan State, Sept. 12: There can be no argument that this is the top non-conference game of the season with Sparty at No. 5 in the Associated Press Top 25 and the Ducks at No. 7. They could play again in the Rose Bowl.

6. Florida State at Clemson, Nov. 7: The winner here will take the ACC Atlantic Division and beat up on the Coastal Division champion in the conference championship game.

5. Alabama at Georgia, Oct. 3: The Dawgs could run the table in the SEC East yet still not win the division because they have to play both the Tide and Auburn from the West. Definitely feeling hosed if I’m a Georgia backer.

4. Southern Cal at Oregon, Nov. 21: I expect these two to face off again in the Pac-12 title game.

3. Michigan State at Ohio State, Nov. 21: The winner of this will be representing the Big Ten East Division in the conference title game in Indianapolis.

2. Alabama at Auburn, Nov. 28: Yeah, the Iron Bowl is probably going to matter again. Alabama has won five of the past seven meetings but the two years Auburn won it played for the national championship. There’s already a line on this game at 5Dimes — Tide are 2.5-point favorites.

1. Baylor at TCU, Nov. 27: I have to list the Big 12 game of the year first because it’s the only Power 5 conference without a championship game, so this should determine the conference winner.
