Indoor practice facilities are vital in college football these days. These days, you not only stick out like a sore thumb if you don’t have one, but if you don’t have a nice one.

Georgia already had one — the Nalley Auditorium that was built in 2007 — but now construction has gotten started on a new one, according to DawgNation’s Seth Emerson.

Emerson says the budget for the project is $30.2M. Since it’s not expected to be ready for use until early 2017, new coach Kirby Smart will have to transport his players to a field on the edge of campus for practices during the 2016 season.

The facility doesn’t have a name yet at this point.

Georgia’s arch-rival, Florida, was the last SEC team that didn’t have any indoor practice facility at all, using it for the first time back on August 22.
