Continuing our late-season daily series looking at the recruiting circuit in the SEC, we analyze the conference’s top cornerback commits for the 2015 recruiting class.

Always budding with talent in the defensive secondary, SEC West elites Alabama and LSU are once again expected to be at the top of the list in February, welcoming several four and five-star ballhawks to campus. Several of the SEC’s cornerback commits hail from the Music City.

Using each player’s 247Sports Composite rating, here’s how the SEC’s top cornerback commits stack up and where they stand nationally against other standouts at the same position:

1. LSU: Kevin Toliver II, 6-2, 185, Jacksonville, Fla., Five-Star (2): This physically-gifted corner made his official visit to Baton Rouge for last weekend’s Alabama game on Nov. 4. The Florida native’s been invited to several national all-star games as the nation’s second highest-rated defensive back and has great size ala Patrick Peterson at 6-foot-2, nearly 190 pounds.

2. ALABAMA: Minkah Fitzpatrick, 6-1, 198, Jersey City, N.J., Five-Star (4)

3. SOUTH CAROLINA: Mark Fields II, 5-11, 185, Cornelius, N.C., Four-Star (9): Known for his ball skills and elite speed, the son of former Carolina Panthers linebacker Mark Fields will be a much-needed instant impact player in an inexperienced secondary with the Gamecocks. In July, he won the ‘Fastest Man’ award at Nike’s The Opening and is a 2015 U.S. Army All-American.

4. ALABAMA: Rico McGraw, 6-0, 190, Nashville, Tenn., Four-Star (18): Another shining stat at Nike’s The Opening camp in July, McGraw can play corner or safety at the next level on Kirby Smart’s defense is Tuscaloosa and has enough upside to blossom into a starter as early as 2016.

5. LSU: Xavier Lewis, 6-0, 175, Reserve, La., Four-Star (19)

6. TENNESSEE: Micah Abernathy, 6-1, 185, Norcross, Ga., Four-Star (21): A two-way starter in prep football hotbed Norcross, Ga., this track star has ties to the American Civil Rights movement as the grandson of Ralph Abernathy Jr., Dr. Martin Luther King’s closest ally. Abernathy’s older brother played for Tennessee coach Butch Jones at Cincinnati.

7. VANDERBILT: Donovan Sheffield, 5-11, 170, Nashville, Tenn., Four-Star (23)

8. TEXAS A&M: Roney Elam, 6-3, 170, Newton, Texas, Four-Star (24): Long and lean, this athletic corner hopes to provide added depth to a secondary losing multi-year starter Deshazor Everett as the same position next season. Elam committed to Texas A&M in April over LSU, Alabama and Baylor.

9. OLE MISS: Ugo Amadi, 5-10, 182, Nashville, Tenn., Three-Star (28)

10. OLE MISS: Cameron Ordway, 6-0, 175, Pulaski, Tenn., Three-Star (30)
