Leonard Fournette gained thousands of fans in Gamecock Country on Saturday.

After putting the finishing touches on LSU’s 45-24 win with 158 yards rushing and a touchdown, Fournette pulled a small sheet of paper from his equipment on the field after the game and read a prepared statement he wrote to the state of South Carolina.

He said the massive flooding reminded him of his experience with Hurricane Katrina and that he would be praying for Gamecocks everywhere over the next several days. Fournette also donated his jersey to relief efforts.

Classy young man.
