Highlights from Kevin Sumlin’s thoughts on the Aggies’ emphatic win over Ball State in front of a sellout crowd in College Station:

On Kyle Allen’s play:

“Like Ive said before, it was a tell of two halves. I thought our 1s operated very efficiently. I thought our first unit played very, very in the first half across the board. He went 10-of-13.

On opening ‘new’ Kyle Field:

“It’s hard to make Kyle Field better, but we did the impossible. It’s a great fan experience. Being close to the field is awesome. To run out there the first time, our players were excited and I thought that energy level showed early. Hopefully we’re going to do our part to put a product on the field to make people want to be here.”

On Kwame Etwi’s play:

“Last week, the question was, ‘who is 54?’ Tonight it was, ‘who is Etwi?’ Kwame is a young man who is very, very intelligent. He wanted to come to Texas A&M for his degree plan. Very smart guy, engineering. Came here as a student first and then walked on. I’d be lying if I said he was going to rush for more than 100 yards in the opening night at Kyle Field. He gave us an opportunity to get Tra Carson off the field.”
