Week 8 of the 2026 college football regular season is officially in the books, and there was once again a ton of chaos that led to the pecking order around the sport being shaken up once again.
6 of the top 16 squads in the AP Poll suffered losses, most notably the No. 2-ranked BYU Cougars, who went on the road and were upset by an unranked UCF Knights team that entered the contest with a 3-3 record.
All of this has led to major shuffling in the rankings, including Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt’s personal top 10, which he revealed on Monday morning’s episode of his podcast.

Klatt has the still-undefeated Miami Hurricanes at No. 1, followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 2, the Indiana Hoosiers at No. 3, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at No. 4, and the Georgia Bulldogs at No. 5.
The back half of Klatt’s rankings include the UCLA Bruins at No. 6, the Utah Utes at No. 7, the Texas Longhorns at No. 8, the Kentucky Wildcats at No. 9, and the aforementioned BYU Cougars rounding things out at No. 10.
Week 9 will once again feature a ton of high-profile matchups and potential upset-worthy games, so it is very likely that Klatt ends up moving several of these squads around once more in next week’s rankings.
