Checking the temperature’s around the Aggies as they head to Alabama.

CRANKING UP THE HEAT

Speedy Noil. After coming on strong with a couple of ridiculous catches late against Mississippi State, Noil put up one of the most impressive efforts of the season against Ole Miss. His 11 catches and 105 yards were both more than what All-America receiver Amari Cooper put up against the Rebels, and a fair amount of Noil’s work came with the game still within reach. It was the freshman’s first double-digit reception game, and it came right around the time he was originally supposed to return from a knee injury. As he gets healthier, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Noil emerges as Kenny Hill’s favorite target.

LEFT OUT TO DRY

Kenny Hill. The sophomore’s interception numbers have skyrocketed over the last several games, and nearly all of them have come when he’s made an errant throw due to pressure. The entire offensive line has struggled in recent weeks, one of the bigger issues during the team’s current 1-2 stretch. While the receiving corps has struggled with drops and Malcome Kennedy sat out the two losses, the Mississippi schools were both able to get to Hill while bringing just three and four men. It’s surprising, considering the line consists of NFL prospects like Cedric Ogbuehi and Germain Ifedi. If the offensive line doesn’t start pulling its weight, there will be more struggles ahead for Hill.

A BREEZE

Texas A&M’s 2015 schedule. The Aggies appear to have lucked out with their slate for the 2015 season. They only play one game outside of Texas before Nov. 14, 2015, and only play three true road games all season. If Kevin Sumlin’s team can learn to win big games at home (they’re 0-5 against ranked opponents at Kyle Field since moving to the SEC), the Aggies could be in line for a big season.
