Joshua Dobbs will go down as one of the best quarterbacks in Tennessee history, but that doesn’t necessarily mean his college success will translate well at the next level.

Bleacher Report NFL draft writer Matt Miller isn’t impressed with Dobbs’ film and gave him a tough grade this morning:

As a senior in 2016, Dobbs completed 63 percent of his attempts and posted career-high totals in passing yards (2,946), passing touchdowns (27), rushing yards (831) and rushing touchdowns (12). He led the Vols to a 22-9 record in a little over two years as the starter.

But Miller isn’t the only one uncertain about Dobbs’ ability to play quarterback in the NFL. CBS Sports lists Dobbs as a potential sixth- or seventh-round pick in April’s draft, and Walter Football projects much of the same.

If Dobbs wants to pursue a career as a professional football player, it seems that switching to another position (e.g. wide receiver) may be in his best interest.
