The Kentucky Wildcats (5-4, 2-4 SEC) host the No. 20 Georgia Bulldogs (6-2, 4-2 SEC) on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium. The Wildcats look to bounce back from a three-game losing streak, which included a Week 10 loss to Missouri last Saturday. The Bulldogs are coming off a 38-20 rout at Florida and hope to reclaim momentum as the SEC East’s top team.

Georgia ranks No. 10 overall in rushing offense. The run-heavy Bulldogs are averaging 250.3 yards per game and have 2,002 total yards this season.

While leading rusher Todd Gurley continues to serve his NCAA suspension, freshman Nick Chubb is expected to continue carrying the load for Georgia’s offense. Chubb has 725 yards and six touchdowns on 120 carries, just 48 yards shy of Gurley.

The freshman will face a Kentucky rush defense that ranks No. 94 overall. The Wildcats have allowed an average of 188.6 yards per game and 4.4 yards per carry. In total, Kentucky’s opponents have gained 1,697 rushing yards this season.

On Saturday, the Wildcats allowed 156 yards on 45 carries against Missouri. In Week 9, Kentucky allowed No. 1 Mississippi State to gain 326 yards and four touchdowns on 51 attempts.

The Wildcats need a strong performance from defensive end/linebacker Alvin “Bud” Dupree. Dupree leads Kentucky with 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He has great speed off the edge and the explosiveness to disrupt plays in the backfield, which should pose as a threat to the freshman tailback.

The Wildcats’ leading tacklers, Josh Forrest (75) and Za’Darius Smith (51), will also need to provide a solid showing in order to stop the elusive Chubb. Kentucky faces a tall task Saturday, but must answer the call in hopes of keeping its bowl chances alive.

Though the Bulldogs enter as a heavy favorite, a big loss could factor into the Wildcats’ potential downward spiral entering their final three games needing a win to secure bowl eligibility. Kentucky must provide a solid matchup facing Chubb and the Bulldogs in order to gain some momentum during its final stretch of games.
