Players on the Missouri football team won their battle with the school administration. Now they can focus on Saturday’s matchup against Brigham Young at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The Cougars enter the game at 7-2, favored by 5 1/2 points. Though Mizzou missed some scheduled practice time, the Tigers should be emotionally inspired.

Let’s take a look at five impact players in the Missouri vs. BYU game.

1. BYU QB Tanner Mangum — The Cougars like to pass, and pass often. In five of its nine games, BYU has attempted 30 or more passes. As a true freshman, Mangum is solid but has thrown seven interceptions. Missouri boasts the No. 13 pass defense in the country, so this should be a fun matchup to watch.

2. Mizzou CB Kenya Dennis — While Dennis is often regarded as the Tigers’ second-best cornerback, he may be the best playmaker in the secondary. His only interception came against South Carolina, but he should get more chances against BYU.

3. Mizzou RB Ish Witter — Witter showed some burst last weekend, finishing with 81 yards on just 12 carries. BYU’s opponents average 140 yards on the ground which isn’t bad, so there may be some holes for Witter.

4. BYU WR Mitch Mathews — At 6-6, 215 pounds, Mathews is a matchup nightmare for cornerbacks and safeties. While he hasn’t had a game this year with more than 100 yards, Mathews has already racked up nine TDs. A dangerous weapon in the red zone, he’s one of Mangum’s favorite targets.

5.  Mizzou DL Charles Harris —  The Tigers’ defensive front has been ferocious. Harris and teammate Walter Brady are tied for fourth in the SEC with seven sacks each. They are almost identical in height and weight, but Harris has more tackles and is a solid force against the run.
