South Carolina finished up its first spring practice period under new coach Will Muschamp earlier this month.

After some evaluation of the 15 practices, the new Gamecocks leader has released his team’s depth chart heading into the fall.

As expected, the quarterback position is an “OR” situation, though it does list returning starter Perry Orth and freshman Brandon McElwain as the options. So that’s something.

Sophomore Deebo Samuel will pair with Jamari Smith and freshman Bryan Edwards to form the first-team of pass catches for whoever wins that quarterback job in the fall.

David Williams emerges as the starting running back to round out the offensive skill positions.

On defense, the Gamecocks appear to be settled with a starter at all but two positions.

It’s worth noting that star LB Skai Moore is not listed on the depth chart because he missed the spring period with an injury.

He’s listed among the players to be evaluated for the depth chart in the fall, which seems like a silly formality for the Gamecocks’ top defensive playmaker.
