The Denver Broncos just won a Super Bowl with one SEC legend under center, and now some of their fans are petitioning for another to return to the team.

According to ESPN.com, some Broncos fans started a Change.org petition to have former Broncos QB Tim Tebow return to the team as the replacement for recently retired QB Peyton Manning.

The national championship and Heisman Trophy winner from Florida has not played a snap in a regular-season NFL game since 2012, and has not played in Denver since 2011.

Here’s the premise of the petition, which has over 7,000 signatures at the time of this article’s publication:

“Coach Gary Kubiak’s offense would thrive with Tebow under center,” the petition reads. “He and the legendary John Elway can make this happen. We dont (sic) need a subpar throwaway from some other team, we need an original Bronco who has the fire, desire, and love of the game to play as a Bronco again! As a bonus the Bronco fans would be ecstatic! He just wins, we all know this! #TebowTime”

Tebow held an 8-6 record as a starter over two seasons for the Broncos. He also has a playoff win against Pittsburgh on his resume.

At 28 years old, Tebow’s window is quickly closing on a return to the league. He was last in camp with the Philadelphia Eagles under former coach Chip Kelly, but failed to make the roster.

Chances of a return to Denver being the cards are very, very slim.
