SEC apologizes for links posted after Twitter account hacked

It happens to SEC athletes all the time, but on Saturday morning it happened to the conference itself: The SEC had its Twitter account hacked.
The official conference Twitter account’s 324,000 followers likely did a double take this morning when tweets with not suitable for work links and images were sent out from @SEC.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell tweeted an official statement from the conference on the matter.

SEC Communications Director Chuck Dunlap humorously reminded his followers that while claiming an account was hacked can sometimes be seen as a cliche excuse, it can happen to anyone.
