The University of Florida officially opened the Otis P. Hawkins Center at Farrior Hall on Monday morning — a $25 million renovation project that aims to provide “academic and personal excellence” for the school’s near-500 student-athletes.

It will provide 82,613 square feet of advising, tutoring and support space for the academic and personal development of the Gators’ many student-athletes.

A dedication ceremony will be held today with President Kent Fuchs, athletic director Jeremy Foley, and members of the Farrior family prepared to cut the ribbon at the grand opening.
