Following Jalen Tabor’s announced suspension Wednesday, his mother took to Twitter to announce she would be tweeting about the suspension:

Before she released any information, several media members had reported Tabor and and teammate C’yontai Lewis had gotten into a fight. One outlet described the fight as ‘nasty’ and another claimed helmets were used as weapons and blood was drawn.
A few hours later, Merri Tabor appeared to confirm those stories. Tabor’s mother defended her son, claiming he had ‘no choice’ but to defend himself:

Tabor also tweeted regarding the incident, which also indicated he was involved in a fight:
