According to 247Sports, Georgia running back Sony Michel has been cleared for contact and could play Saturday against Nicholls State.

The site reported that Michel is planning to play, unless UGA holds him out with it being a FCS opponent.

The good news is that Nick Chubb seems fully healthy and primed for a big season; so, holding out Michel — if the staff elects to — isn’t all bad.

Michel was injured in an ATV accident in early July and had surgery to repair a fractured left arm. He’s been practicing with a wrap on his arm for the past few weeks.

He rushed for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns last season, and adding him back in the lineup just gives the Bulldogs’ offense more firepower — an embarrassment of riches, if you will.
