The list of tributes for CBS broadcaster Verne Lundquist keeps on growing

Georgia’s band honored Lundquist by spelling out “Yes Sir!” — a reference to his iconic call during the 1986 Masters — before the No. 25 Bulldogs hosted No. 11 Tennessee on CBS. It was the second tribute the university paid the longtime broadcast after it presented Lundquist with a portrait Friday night.
He is retiring from calling the “SEC on CBS” games following this season, his 17th in that role. Lundquist will continue to call major college basketball and golf events for CBS while Brad Nessler replaces him for football coverage.
