WBRZ 2 (Baton Rouge) meteorologist Josh Eachus is predicting a 40 percent chance at winds that could exceed 39 miles per hour for the upcoming LSU-Florida game in Gainesville due to tropical storms created by Hurricane Matthew on the eastern coast.

Steve Caparotta, another Baton Rouge meteorologist, takes it even further by saying there’s a 49 percent chance the tropical storm hits by the start of the weekend:

Extreme weather conditions like this would obviously play as a big factor for Saturday’s game and could determine whether it gets postponed, rescheduled or even moved to another location.

Last October, South Carolina had to relocate its home contest vs. LSU to Baton Rouge due to devastating floods that hit the state. It would not be surprising to see a similar result if the conditions in Gainesville are not suitable for a football game.
